The offer's already here, so today is about why I kept documenting anyway — and turning 41 days of videos into something someone else can actually read.
There are some days where you don't really have much to say, but still you feel like you have to document them because they are also a part of the journey.
So today was day 41 of our journey towards finding a new job, and if you have been following this whole journey, you already know that we have received the offer and we are going to join the company on Monday.
And honestly, that feels really good.
But I don't want to make this video only about the offer because the offer is just one part of the entire journey. The reason I started documenting all of this was not just to reach the final destination and then say that, okay, we got the job. It was more about documenting everything that happened in between.
The good days, the bad days, the days where I was extremely productive, the days where I couldn't study at all, the interviews that went well, the interviews that didn't go well, the mistakes that I made, the things that I learned about myself and, most importantly, the different ways I tried to solve the problems that were stopping me from moving forward.
And that's what this whole series has been about.
This was never meant to be a typical series where I'm teaching something every day or trying to give you some kind of formula for finding a job. It's more like my own documentation of the problems that I was facing and the approaches that I was taking to solve those problems.
Because finding a job is not just about preparing for interviews.
There are so many things that happen in parallel.
You have to figure out how you are going to prepare, where you are spending your time, what you should focus on, what you should completely ignore, how you are going to approach recruiters, how you are going to handle interviews, how you are going to deal with rejection and, at the same time, how you are going to keep yourself moving when some days simply don't go according to plan.
That was actually one of the biggest parts of this journey for me.
I initially thought that the biggest challenge would be preparation.
But as the days went by, I realized that managing myself was equally important.
There were days where I knew exactly what I needed to study but still couldn't sit and do it. There were days where I spent too much time building my project because it was enjoyable, while the actual preparation was getting pushed aside.
There were days where an interview didn't go well and it affected the rest of the day.
And there were also days where things went really well and suddenly everything felt much easier.
So somewhere along the way, the journey became less about just getting a job and more about understanding how I work.
How I prepare.
How I lose momentum.
How I regain it.
And how I can make the entire process a little more efficient.
Now that we have reached this point and the offer is already here, I think the next step is to document everything properly.
Over the next couple of days, especially tomorrow, I'm planning to go through all the videos that we have created so far and organize them properly.
There are a lot of small pieces in these videos, and I think if we put them together properly, they could actually become something useful for somebody else who is going through the same process.
I'll try to put the documentation on my website as well so that anybody who wants to go through the entire journey can read it instead of having to watch every single video.
And eventually, I'll also break some of these experiences into smaller pieces for social media.
There are quite a few things that happened during these 41 days which I think are worth talking about separately.
Things like interview preparation, losing motivation, dealing with rejection, managing time, building routines, figuring out what actually works for me and what doesn't, and even the mistakes I made during interviews.
Rather than trying to put everything into one long article, I'll divide them into smaller pieces so that each experience can be understood separately.
And I think that is probably the best way to close this part of the journey.
We are not completely done yet because tomorrow is still day 42, and that will be the last day of this particular journey.
But the main objective that we started with has already been achieved.
We were looking for a new job.
We went through the interviews.
We made mistakes.
We learned.
We kept coming back after the bad days.
And eventually, we got the offer.
Now the next chapter starts on Monday.
So yeah, there wasn't much that happened today in terms of preparation or interviews, but I still wanted to document day 41 because this is also a part of the journey.
Sometimes you don't have to be productive every single day.
Sometimes you just have to pause, look back at how far you've come, and understand what happened along the way.
Tomorrow we'll have one more day left.
And after that, we'll close this particular chapter and move towards whatever comes next.
So yeah, that's all for day 41.
We'll see you again.
