Day 37: Not Waiting to Become Ready

The hiring-manager round went well, and for once I'm not attaching myself too tightly to the result — the fear of the interview itself has finally reduced.

Something changed after today's interview.

Not necessarily in the outcome — I still have to wait for that — but in how I see the process itself.

The hiring manager round went well. The conversation felt positive, and I'm hoping to hear back tomorrow. But for once, I don't feel like I need to attach myself too tightly to the result.

What Every Round Has Taught Me

Over the last few weeks, every round has taught me something different.

The first round was initially the hurdle. Then the second round became the challenge. Now I've gone through the hiring-manager stage as well.

And somewhere along the way, the uncertainty around interviews has reduced.

I now have a much clearer understanding of what each stage is trying to evaluate: technical fundamentals, implementation, design thinking, communication, past experience, decision-making, and how I approach situations beyond the code itself.

That knowledge is probably more valuable than one interview result.

Because if tomorrow brings good news, great. I move forward.

If it doesn't, I still know more about the process than I did before this journey started.

The Real Problem Is Volume

The bigger problem right now is actually getting enough opportunities.

Today there were no new interview calls, which is surprising after the amount of activity I had been seeing earlier. I don't know whether something has changed in the market, recruiter activity, platform visibility, or simply the way my profile is being surfaced.

I don't want to invent an explanation before I have enough information.

So the response is going to be practical: reach out more, widen the audience for the resume, follow up with people already contacted, and keep looking for new channels through which interviews can come in.

No Longer Waiting to Become Ready

The preparation side has reached a different stage too.

I don't feel like I'm waiting to become "ready" anymore.

I've gone through enough actual interviews now to know that I can handle the process. There will still be questions I don't know, mistakes I make, and moments where I could have answered better. But the fear of the interview itself has reduced considerably.

Now the challenge is volume and conversion.

Get the resume in front of more relevant people.

Get more conversations.

Get more interviews.

And when those interviews come, use everything I've learned over the last month to perform better.

There's another goal running alongside all of this: AI.

Whether the job comes tomorrow, next week, or later, I still want to move quickly into practical AI learning and start building meaningful AI-enabled projects. That part of the journey isn't dependent on the offer.

For tonight, though, there isn't much more to solve.

The interview is done.

The result is outside my control.

I'll hope for the best, but I'm not going to let the waiting consume the next day.

Tomorrow is Day 38.

And regardless of what comes back, there's still work to do.
