A first interview round that went well, another one scheduled, and a side project started — after two hard weeks, the momentum finally feels real.
Day 15 felt different.
After fourteen days of ups and downs, today was easily one of the best days of the journey so far. And honestly, I'm proud that I managed to keep going long enough to get here.
The biggest thing that happened today was an interview.
It was the first round, and I came out of it feeling pretty good. I'd say around 90% of the interview went well, with a few things I could have handled better. More importantly, I got the feeling that the interviewer was happy enough with my performance to move me forward.
That's encouraging.
These interview processes usually have multiple rounds, and the final decision is based on the overall performance. So clearing one round doesn't mean the job is done — but it does mean I've crossed one more hurdle.
I also have another interview scheduled for next week, including one that came through a recruiter I spoke with last week.
Interestingly, I didn't receive any new recruiter calls today.
After spending so much time optimizing LinkedIn and my other profiles, I was expecting more traction. But that's also something I'm learning during this journey: you can't control when opportunities arrive. You can only keep improving the things you can control.
I'm also changing the way I set my daily goals.
I've been setting ambitious targets and then carrying unfinished work into the next day, which eventually turns into a backlog of tasks and unnecessary pressure. From now on, I want to define tomorrow's work based on what I can realistically complete.
The goal isn't to win every single day.
The goal is to complete the seven-day cycle.
If I have a bad day, I don't want that day to become a bad week.
Outside of the job hunt, I also spent some time working on a side project.
While documenting my own job search, I realized how much of the process I'm still tracking manually — applications, recruiters, interviews, follow-ups, and everything in between. So I started building a small product to automate some of that process.
For now, it's just an idea I'm building for myself.
Once it's usable, I want to give it to a few friends who are also looking for jobs, get their feedback, and see whether it can become something bigger.
Maybe AI will eventually become a part of it as well. That's something I'll explore as I continue learning.
But I'm deliberately trying not to get ahead of myself.
For now, it's simply a project that solves a problem I'm personally experiencing.
And that's what makes Day 15 feel so good.
An interview went well. Another one is scheduled. I'm building something. And most importantly, after two difficult weeks, I'm still moving forward.
Maybe that's the real win.
Day 15 done. The momentum is finally starting to feel real.
